Designers & Moms

About

We’re two creative (and nerdy) moms that have teamed up in life and design

Sandi Madison

They/She

I am an illustrator and self-professed “designerd” with a creative and a playful way of approaching chaos. I graduated from the Computer Graphics program at the International Academy of Design & Technology and have been working in design for over fifteen years.

I’m a Front end and UX Designer who has been known to revert to the lost art of pen and paper (only in extreme circumstances). If you need a little edge or new ideas I can make that happen.

My working style is casual and supportive. I love to laugh and I’m happy to give you lots of reassurance if technology keeps you up at night. If you’re looking for video game concept design you’d be making my dreams come true.

When I’m not working I’m gaming, creating my own universe, or prepping for the apocalypse. I keep Nicole from getting bored and enjoy keeping our six-year-old entertained or at least out of trouble at the school.

Nicole Madison

She/They

I started out with a Bachelor of Design from Toronto Metropolitan University and then discovered that I can apply the fundamentals of design to practically everything—spreadsheets, reports, graphics, even household chores. Staying calm in the midst of chaos (maybe a carry-over from my yoga-teaching past) and coming up with creative solutions to operational problems are my superpowers. I like to create materials that are both attractive and functional. I’m a nerd, an avid reader, and a committed introvert. I work quietly behind the scenes so that your work can shine.

As the Operations Manager for Michael Stone, I managed an online community of thousands, as well as keeping all the moving pieces organized. I built and provided technical support for websites, online courses, social media, newsletters, graphic design, and more.

I currently work as the Director of Operations & Communications for the New Leaf Foundation, a youth service organization that provides mindfulness and yoga-based programs to youth in marginalized communities. In my spare time, I completed the Digital Skills program with Canada Learning Code.
